Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy.

Chajaengi is an information site you can use without creating an account. This page states plainly what data is collected, how advertising cookies are used, and what you can refuse.

In short.

Three sentences, if you read nothing else

Key points

  • There is no sign-up, no login and no form on this site, so we never ask you for a name, an email address or a phone number.
  • What does exist is standard server access logging and advertising cookies set by Google AdSense — and you can switch personalised advertising off at any time.
  • Your theme choice, bookmarks and recently viewed pages stay in your own browser. They are never sent to us.

1. What is collected.

We collect nothing directly. These are generated automatically by using the site.

CategoryExamplesPurposeRetention
Access logsIP address, timestamp, requested URL, referrer, browser and OS versionSecurity (blocking abuse and DDoS), fault diagnosis, aggregate traffic statisticsHeld by our hosting provider Cloudflare under its own retention policy
Advertising identifiersCookies and advertising IDs set by Google AdSenseServing and measuring advertisements, limiting how often the same ad is shownUnder Google policy; see section 4 to remove them yourself
Browser storageTheme preference, bookmarks, recently viewed pagesRestoring your settings on your next visitStays on your device until you clear it

We do not use analytics products that build individual profiles, and we do not sell or share data with data brokers.

2. Cookies.

What is stored on your device and why

a. Advertising cookies

Google AdSense places cookies to decide which advertisement to show, to avoid repeating the same one and to detect click fraud. These are set by Google, not by us, and we have no access to their contents.

b. Security cookies

Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this site, may set a cookie to distinguish genuine visitors from automated attacks. It is strictly necessary for the site to stay online and carries no advertising function.

c. What we do not use

There are no cookies for logins, shopping carts or cross-site tracking of your behaviour for our own purposes, because the site has no accounts and sells nothing.

3. Google advertising disclosures.

Required by the Google AdSense programme policies

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Chajaengi and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.
  • If you do not want third-party vendors to use cookies, you can opt out of them individually at aboutads.info/choices.
  • How Google handles data as an advertising partner is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

  • If you visit from these regions, Google’s consent management tool may display a dialogue asking whether you agree to personalised advertising and the use of cookies.
  • Refusing consent does not restrict any content on this site. You will simply see non-personalised advertising instead.

4. How to opt out.

Two levels: advertising settings, and the cookies themselves

a. Turn off personalised advertising

  • Google Ad Settings — switch off "Personalised advertising". Ads continue but are no longer based on your interests.
  • aboutads.info/choices — opt out of participating third-party vendors individually.
  • youronlinechoices.eu — the European equivalent, useful for visitors in the EU and the UK.

b. Block or delete cookies in your browser

BrowserWhere to go
Chrome (desktop)Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
EdgeSettings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Safari (macOS)Settings → Privacy → Block all cookies / Manage Website Data
Safari (iOS)Settings app → Safari → Block All Cookies
FirefoxSettings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection
Samsung InternetMenu → Settings → Sites and downloads → Manage cookies

Blocking all cookies may affect other sites you use. Blocking only third-party cookies is usually enough to stop advertising tracking while leaving normal browsing intact.

5. Data kept in your browser.

Stored with localStorage — never transmitted to a server

KeyWhat it isDetails
cj-themeTheme preferenceRemembers whether you chose the light or the dark appearance.
cj-bookmarksBookmarksThe list of pages you saved with the bookmark button.
cj-recentRecently viewedThe last few pages you opened, shown on the home page so you can carry on.

You can remove all of it at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings. Nothing on the site breaks as a result; you simply start from defaults again.

6. Third-party services.

Who else processes data when you load a page

ServicePurposeData involvedRetentionPolicy
Google AdSenseServing and measuring advertisementsCookies, advertising identifiers, IP address, page viewedUnder Google policyGoogle advertising policy
CloudflareHosting, content delivery, protection against attackIP address, request headers, access logUnder Cloudflare policyCloudflare privacy policy
jsDelivr (CDN)Delivering fonts, icons and JavaScript librariesIP address, requested fileUnder jsDelivr policyjsDelivr privacy policy

These providers operate servers outside the Republic of Korea, so loading a page necessarily involves an international transfer of the connection data listed above. Each provider’s own privacy policy governs that processing and is linked in the table.

7. Your rights.

And the practical limits of exercising them here

  • You may ask us to confirm what data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to the address in section 9.
  • Because there are no accounts, we hold nothing that identifies you personally. In practice this means a request for access or deletion will usually be answered by explaining that no identifiable record of you exists on our side.
  • Data held by Google or Cloudflare must be requested from those companies directly, using the policies linked in section 6. We cannot access or delete it on your behalf.
  • Advertising cookies are the one thing entirely under your control — section 4 explains how to remove them yourself, which takes effect immediately.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority. Because this site holds no account data, such a complaint will in practice concern the advertising and hosting providers named in section 6.

Supervisory authorities (Republic of Korea)

  • Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee — 1833-6972 (kopico.go.kr)
  • Korea Internet & Security Agency, Privacy Infringement Report Centre — 118 (privacy.kisa.or.kr)
  • Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, Cybercrime Investigation — 1301
  • National Police Agency, Cyber Bureau — 182 (ecrm.police.go.kr)

8. Children.

Under 14 years of age

This site does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 14. Since there is no registration and no form, there is no route by which a child could submit personal data to us. We recommend that a parent or guardian supervise the use of any site that displays advertising.

9. Contact.
